Augusta Thanksgiving Robbery Suspect Arrested
Augusta Police have arrested a Windsor man in connection with an armed robbery at the Quick Mart.
Deputy Chief Jared Mills says the robbery happened at 11:43 Thanksgiving morning at the Quick Mart on Western Avenue. Police say a male suspect walked into the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A State Police K-9 tracked the suspect to a nearby residence, but the suspect wasn't home. Shortly after the robbery, Sergeant Christopher Shaw located a man that fit the suspect's description. Investigators responded and found evidence that linked the suspect to the robbery.
As a result of that investigation, 35-year-old Anthony Manganella of Windsor is charged with Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person. His bail was set at $25,000 cash before he was taken to the Kennebec County Jail.
No one was hurt in the incident.
