5-Year-Old Belfast Girl Shot And Killed At Grandparents’ Scarborough Home
State police are investigating after a 5-year-old Belfast girl was fatally shot Monday night inside her grandparents' home on Milliken Road in Scarborough.
Elise Dorr died shortly after being transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, state police said in a news release Tuesday morning.
She was staying at the home with her parents and two older siblings while her grandparents were away.
The parents, Todd and Virginia Dorr, were at the home at the time of the shooting and have been interviewed by police.
Police were called to the home around 7:30 p.m. and stayed at the scene until the early morning hours of Tuesday, conducting interviews and gathering evidence.
They have released no details on the circumstances surrounding the girl's death.
