Woodlands Senior Living Facilities will host a free barbecue for first responders this week, including take-out for those who have to work.

First responders are an integral part of running a senior living facility, between the EMT's and ambulance drivers who respond to calls and transport residents for their medical appointments, to the firefighters who provide oxygen, and more. So the folks at the Woodlands Senior Living community will be hosting a free barbecue, as a way to say thank you.

Members of area police departments, sheriff's departments, fire departments, and ambulance companies are invited to bring their families between 4 and 6 o'clock Wednesday afternoon for a free barbecue dinner, live music, and giveaways. The barbecues are being held at all Woodlands of Maine facilities, including Brewer, Waterville, Lewiston, and Hallowell. And for those folks who are working during that time and can't make the barbecue, they're encouraged to stop by for a to-go box.
