
MA Man Sentenced for Stealing Guns from Waterville Store
A Massachusetts man was sentenced in a Bangor courtroom this week for his role in the theft of firearms from a Waterville pawn shop.
Massachusetts Man is Ordered to Pay More Than $17K in Restitution
Ryan Ansart, 22, is sentenced to three years in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $17,253.37 in restitution. Ansart pleaded guilty in August 2024.

Ansart and a Co-Conspirator Stole 15 Firearms From a Waterville Pawn Shop
It was in April 2022 when Ansart and his co-conspirator Damiean Marcial-Alexander broke into JR Trading and Pawn in Waterville, a licensed firearms dealer, and stole a number of guns. Among the items stolen from the pawn shop were a Glock, a Model 17 Gen5 9mm pistol, and a Smith & Wesson .38 special revolver. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Maine, 15 firearms in all were reported stolen, including six revolvers and nine semi-automatic pistols. Surveillance images of the pair clad in white jumpsuits, breaking a window to get in and a hammer to break the gun cabinets, were posted on social media as part of the police investigation.

The pair used Instagram and text messages to plan the theft, including posting a picture of a map to the location from Marcial-Alexander's apartment, as well as photos of the two men holding some of the stolen firearms.
Damiean Marcial-Alexander, 22, of Waterville was also sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay $17.253.37 in restitution for his role in the conspiracy and theft.
