I don't know about you, but I need flower pictures in February to remind me Spring is on the way.

Am I the Only One Who Thinks February is a Long (short) Month?

This month has always been tough for me. When I was living on the University of Maine's Orono campus, I had a room in Stoddard Hall, which sits on College Avenue. That means all my classes were on the other side of campus and, in February, that required massive layering of clothing. I'd get to class and start peeling layers. By the time I was comfortable, the class was over and I had to put all that stuff back on.

To this day, February is my toughest month. Christmas is over. My birthday is over. Spring is too many weeks away. So what are we left with? Cold. Snow. And then even more cold temperatures. Yeah, that's not enough for me. I need some beauty. Some green. Some memories of warmer days. In the past, I've spent time watching live cams from warmer climates. Okay, Hawaii. But this year, it's not helping.

Where is Ecotat Gardens and Arboretum?

I was looking through my Facebook pictures for Q-106.5 Egg Ride Pictures when I came across a stash of pics from Ecotat Gardens and Arboretum in Hermon. I love that place. There are so many beautiful flowers and trees, with some benches and other items to add a little interest. It isn't a big park, but I still get lost wandering among the gardens. There are several walking trails, too, for quiet woods walks. If you've never been there, it's easy to find. From Bangor, head out Route 2, past the shopping mall, and continue up over the hill. When you get to the top, you'll see signs to turn right and you're there.

So on this sunny February day, I'm sharing some of my favorite pictures of Ecotat Gardens. I hope they bring a smile and remind you that warmer days are coming.
