This Saturday, kids of all ages are invited to climb on, sit in, and ask questions about a huge variety of large vehicles at Camp Capella's Touch A Truck Fair!

The Touch a Truck Fair is being held this Saturday, September 10th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot at Speedway 95 in Hermon. Admission is $5 per person, or $20 for family of up to six people. And all the money raised goes to help support Camp Capella in Dedham.

Trucks of all kinds take part in the fair but there are also fun and interesting vehicles. So, you'll find big rigs, construction equipment, military vehicles, police, ambulance, and fire trucks! In addition, there will face painting, bounce houses, live music from the band 'Recall,' and plenty of food to make it a perfect day. And, there will be car crushing demos and Quarry tours! And, the Darling's Ice Cream Truck will be there with goodies by donation!

Camp Capella sits on picturesque Phillips Lake in Dedham and is a full summer camp experience for children with disabilities. Running the camp is expensive, since they need a full medical staff, and plenty of counselors to take care of children with a variety of special needs. So, fundraisers like this one help to make sure they continue to give these kids a chance to go swimming, boating, or hiking. Executive Director Dana Mosher has told me that these kids are often 'different' from the others they attend school with, but at camp, they're just like everyone else. That gives them a chance to relax and concentrate on having fun. And it gives their parents/caregivers a chance to get off by themselves, or pay more attention to their other children who often take a backseat to their sibling's care.

What's more fun than blasting the air horn of a big rig, or sounding the siren of an emergency vehicle? This Saturday, you and your kids can do that and a whole lot more. Don't miss it!
