Toby Keith is turning his attention back to some of the core themes of his music for the brand-new lyric video to his latest single, "A Few More Cowboys."

Keith has carved out his own unique brand of two-fisted country-rock, with patriotic themes often shot through with a defiant tone, and supported by distorted electric guitars that only serve to underscore those themes. His first single was "Should've Been a Cowboy," and he's demonstrated a patriotic fighting spirit with some of his biggest hits, including "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)" and "American Soldier."

He splits the difference with "A Few More Cowboys," which proposes a series of common sense, old-fashioned solutions to the ills of modern society.

“If the White House was in Texas, man, we’d get a straighter answer / If they’d let us smoke what we want, we’d have a lot less cancer / Be a lot more daddies sons could be proud of / We’d have half the crime, we’d have twice the fun," Keith suggests in the first verse of the song, which he co-wrote with Bobby Pinson and Dean Dillon.

He goes on to state that getting back to some Wild West solutions might be the answer: “With a few more cowboys, be a lot less outlaws / With a few more amens, be a lot less bad calls / With a few more yes ma’ams, and a lot less yes men / This world would be a better place to live in with a few more cowboys.”

The lyric video for "A Few More Cowboys" brings some light-hearted and some serious imagery to the lyrics, including shots of the White House, the Statue of Liberty flashing the peace sign, the figures on Mount Rushmore donning police caps and firemen's helmets, and -- of course -- cowboys riding the range. The clip is debuting exclusively via Taste of Country.

"A Few More Cowboys" is the lead single from Keith's next studio album, which is to be announced.
