According to the BDN, FBI agents have joined local law enforcement in the search for Burton, who is suspected of killing Stephanie Ginn Gebo. Her body was found by her children on June 5th in the Parkman home the couple had once shared. Police have speculated that Gebo was killed with her own gun after confronting Burton, who broke into her house.

Robert Burton has a history of domestic violence, including terrorizing the mother of another former girlfriend with a knife and a gun. In that case, he had broken into the family's camp and waited in the bathroom for his ex to arrive. Her mother got there before she did and was assaulted by Burton.

State Police, the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office, the Warden Service, and other agencies have been working together to try and locate Burton who has been spotted twice since Gebo's death. The latest sighting was on July 6th at a camp on Point Road in Guilford. The owner saw Burton peeking through the windows. He told police that when Burton realized he'd been spotted, he ran, stole a canoe or kayak, and took off across the lake.

Burton was wearing camouflage clothing and carrying a black backpack in both sightings since his disappearance. He has two very distinct tattoos on his hands - a shamrock on his left hand and the word 'OUTLAW' on his right. He's considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with any information is urged not to approach him, but call 911 immediately.
