A squirrel knocked out power to more than 800 Emera Maine customers after entering a substation in Bangor Friday morning.

Customers along a number of the "tree Streets" lost power. Hogan Road, State Street and Stillwater Avenue homes were affected as well, the utility said in a release.

The release, sent out just after 9:30 a.m., said electricians were still at the substation making repairs.

The animal also knocked out power to several street lights in the area.
