Grass drag races will be held in Hermon this weekend, along with a Maine Snowmobile Association swap meet.

Who would ever think of snowmobiles in the summer? The answer is everyone who attends this weekend's 4th Annual Pat Parker Memorial Grass Drags. I mean, technically these are snowmobiles but they don't need the white stuff to make them go really fast. And, honestly, it's never too early to be thinking about upgrading, so stop by for the Maine Snowmobile Association Swap Meet on Saturday.

This is a family friendly event, so bring the kids for some winter-type fun at the peak of summer. Refreshments will be on sale throughout the event and, on August 17th from 3 to 5 p.m., the Darling's Ice Cream for a Cause Truck will be giving out ice cream. All donations to the Darling's truck will benefit the Penobscot Snowmobile Club.

Admission is $10 for anyone 12 and over. Kids under 12 get in free. Imagine enjoying snowmobile races in the summer. Your favorite sport without the chilled nose and freezing toes. Sounds like a great time to me. Find more information on the event's Facebook page.
