The holidays are here. It's time to start the present train

I feel like every single year, especially since really living in adulthood, the holidays come around faster and faster. Like, one minute it's July, and the next minute, it's December. Inevitably, family members all start coming out of the woodwork, asking me what I want for Christmas.

Of course, I always feel compelled to tell them the easiest, cheapest things. On the outside, I never want anyone to put too much time or effort, let alone money, into my gifts. But every now and then, I wish someone would just read my mind and get me that big-ticket item I don't dare to say out loud. Well, you could let your phone do it for you...

Wait... how does a person's phone help get the big stuff?

Chances are, your family or your significant other already know what big-ticket item you might like. But they may not know where to find it. So it dawned on me one day, Facebook and other social media sites looooove to listen to whatever's said near your phone to use that to their marketing advantage.

So, my idea is that whenever your significant other isn't around, walk up to their phone and start saying things about your secret favorite present near their phone. Chances are pretty good that if you do it enough, your S.O. will start seeing ads for your wannabe present in their newsfeed. I may, or may not, have been trying this on my own.....

Is it foolproof? Of course not. Will it work? Well, it'll definitely start making ads appear on their Facebook feed, but it's up to you to keep it going enough so that they get the hint. It's going to be a multi-faceted attack. But I've always learned people are far more receptive to any idea when they think it's theirs.

Good luck, and let's report back right after the holidays and see how we made out....
