Sex Offender Arrested For Allegedly Posting Girls’ Photos
A man who's already on the Maine Sex Offender Registry is now accused of posting girl's photos on social media.
Augusta Police were first alerted to Robert Robinson on January 18th, when they received a complaint about a man who had allegedly posted a picture of a young female on his social media site. At issue was Robinson's status as a registered sex offender. When the department began receiving even more complaints, an investigation was launched.
The Maine Computer Crimes Task Force worked in conjunction with Augusta PD to comb through all the images and social media accounts in Robinson's name. After analyzing all the evidence, a warrant was issued for 3 counts of Possession of Sexually Explicit Material of a Minor (under 12 years of age).
Robinson was arrested on Thursday and taken to the Kennebec County Jail, where bail was set at $15,000 cash with the condition that he have no contact with children under 16 years of age.
