Prentiss Plantation Man Arrested After Family Fight

A Prentiss Plantation man is facing charges after an altercation at his home.

Penobscot County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a home on Park Street just after 1:30 Saturday afternoon, to a report of a family fight. When they tried to make contact with the suspect, 33-year-old Matthew Thomas Cole, they learned that he had fled the scene.

Cole was located a short distance away and arrested. He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and charged with domestic violence assault and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Officials say this was not a police standoff, as was originally reported.

Maine State Police assisted at the scene.
