
Maine Man Charged With Murder for Death of Clinton Man
A Clinton man is facing charges for the death of a man who was reported missing almost a year ago.

James Simonson, 66, is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person in connection with a shooting in late June of 2025, on Main Street in Clinton.
William 'Bill' Parent, 68, of Clinton, died from injuries he sustained in the incident.
Clinton, Maine Man Who Was Reported Missing in 2025 was Murdered
Parent was reported missing by his family in early July 2025, after not being seen or heard from since June 20, 2025.
Family members said the door to his home was open, but there was no sign of him.
Mr. Parent's remains were found in the Autumn, in a field.

An autopsy was conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, which determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds and the manner of death as homicide.
Maine Police Have Not Revealed a Motive for a Fatal Shooting in Clinton
The police have not commented on a motive for fatal shooting or whether the two men knew each other.
Simonson was transported to the Kennebec County Jail, where he's beig held without bail.
