Police: Speed A Factor In Fatal SUV Crash
One man died early Saturday morning when he lost control of his SUV and it struck a utility pole in Wayne.
Michael Fitzherbert, 35, of Hartford died at the scene, according to police.
Fitzherbert was traveling north on Route 133 when his 2001 Chevy Blazer went off the right side of the roadway, stuck the pole and came to rest on its roof.
Fitzherbert was not wearing a seat belt.
CMP workers worked to restore power in the subzero temperatures. The crash took place about 1:30 AM and Route 133 was closed for three hours .
Preliminary investigation suggests speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
