The State Fire Marshal's Office says 1 person is dead after a fire and explosion at a Searsmont Lumberyard.

The name of the deceased has not been released, but the State Fire Marshal's Office has confirmed that one person died at the scene.
Multiple other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to hospitals throughout the state.
Several are reported to be in serious or critical condition.
Investigators are still working through notifications and confirming information about the injured, so no names are currently being released.
MaineHealth Maine Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, confirmed Friday afternoon that they were treating 10 patients.
The deceased will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be performed and positive identification confirmed.
Maine Fire Crews Were Battling Searsmont, Maine Fire When There Was an Explosion
Officials say crews responded to a reported fire in one of the silos at Robbins Lumber, 506 Main Street, in Searsmont, just after 10:00 am Friday.
The Searsmont Fire Department was the initial responding agency,with numerous mutual aid departments assisting in battling the blaze.
When they first got to the scene, the firefighters encountered a fire in the silo at the mill.
As they were conducting fire suppression efforts, an explosion occurred.
It was in that explosion that some or all of the injuries, including the fatality, occurred.
Searsmont, Maine Lumberyard Fire is Under Investigation
The State Fire Marshal says crews have contained the fire, but suppression efforts are still underway.
Determining the cause and origin of the fire is expected to take some time.
