Police Arrest Lebanon Squatter With Fake Lease Agreement

Police have charged a woman they say was living in a Lebanon home illegally.

Maine State Police first encountered 29-year-old Christine Belanger of Acton while investigating a report of a possible burglary in progress at a house on the Jim Grant Road in Lebanon. Belanger produced a lease agreement, and told troopers that she was legally renting the house from the owner. However, when police contacted the homeowner, she told them she had never heard of Belanger and did not sign a lease agreement with her.

Belanger was charged with criminal trespass and taken to the York County Jail. Her bail was set at $100.
