Once again this year Penobscot County Sheriff's Office will be taking part in National Drug Take Back Day. And it's actually 2 days. This Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th. The hours at Bangor's Union Street Hannaford's Parking lot are Friday 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. and again this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Those are the hours for an expired drugs or meds that you want to get rid of. This way they won't end up in the wrong hands, nor are you tempted to flush them down the toilet and into the water system.

Not only will they be collecting expired drugs or meds you are not going to use, but it's also a day, or days, to have your important documents you no longer need be shredded. If you have old bills, checks, anything with any account numbers on the documents, and you no longer need the paper copies, it's best to have those items shredded. That way those documents aren't going to end up potentially harming you.

The event will also take place at Bangor's Union Street Hannaford's parking lot. The hours for shredding are this Friday are 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., and again this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
