Old Town Police Dog Tracks Home Intruder Through Dense Woods

An Old Town man faces charges after allegedly fleeing into the woods when the homeowners returned to discover a burglary in process Monday evening.

John Harmon, 34, was charged with robbery and violating a condition of release.

The charges came after police responded to a burglary in progress on Stillwater Avenue. Two homeowners came home to find an intruder in their residence. After a brief struggle with the homeowner, the suspect fled the scene on foot into the woods.

Old Town Police Officer Justin Angelo and his K-9 partner, Rask, responded to the area. After a very difficult track through dense woods and thick mud the K-9 team located Harmon, police said.
