Moose Causes Fatal Chain Reaction Crash in Greenville

A Greenville man was killed in a chain reaction crash that began with a vehicle hitting a moose.

The accident happened just after 6:00 Tuesday evening on Route 15 in Greenville. A moose that was in the roadway was hit by two vehicles, with the animal ending up on the roof of the second vehicle. That second vehicle, driven by 52-year-old Joel Wortman, struck a third vehicle head-on. WABI-TV reports Wortman died as a result of injuries suffered in that crash.

Two people in the third vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
