Eddington, Maine Man Who Threatened the Vice President is Convicted

An Eddington man who was accused of making multiple threats, including against the Vice President, has been convicted.

Thadius Wind, 52, was found guilty in a Bangor courtroom this week of three counts of transmitting interstate threatening communications, and one count of threatening Vice President Kamala Harris.

A series of posts on X by Wind threatened to kill Jewish people, Vice President Harris, Maine law enforcement officers, and Elon Musk.

Accoding to the BDN, when the FBI identified Wind as the author of the posts, they used a warrant to search his Eddington home in March 2025.

Seized in that search were multiple swords.

Maine Man Convicted of Threatening the Vice President Has a History with Police

Law enforcement is very familiar with Wind, who has displayed erratic behavior on multiple occasions.

He was the subject of a nearly 20-hour standoff with the police in Old Town in 2021, during which authorities said he displayed a sword and threatened officers.

Another incident in 2022 involved a standoff while deputies attempted to serve Wind with a protection order in Eddington.

Eddington, Maine Man Faces Potential Jail Time After Making Threats

Wind pleaded not guilty to the threat charges and stood trial after being found competent to stand trial in May.

He will be sentenced at a later date and faces up to five years in prison on each count, a fine of up to $250,000, as well as supervised release.
