You don't have to join the witch walk and dance to shop at the Goblin market, but altogether it would be a fun way to spend a Saturday.

I have a real fondness for this event since I grew up as a Brewer Witch. However, the Maine Witch Walk isn't only open to residents of Brewer. Anyone willing to celebrate the season with a walk on the magical side is invited to attend.

Even if you don't want to walk and dance, there's fun for everyone with the Goblin Market on the Bangor Waterfront, filled with a variety of vendors.

Maine Witch Walk and Goblin Market is Being Held on the Bangor Waterfront

It's all happening from 12:30 to 4 pm on Saturday, October 18th, with the walk starting and ending in Bangor's Waterfront Park. The market opens at 12:30, and the dance practice is at 1:00.

That's where you can learn the dance and then start the walk that will wind through downtown Bangor before ending up back on the waterfront.

That's where the dance will take place, on the green next to the compass rose, right next to the Maine Savings Amphitheater. Now, if you're worried that it will be too complicated, or you don't think you can do it, check out this video I took of the dance a few years ago. It's easy and fun!

Maine Witch Walk and Dance is Open to All Ages

Who says this season is just for kids? Have some magical fun as a grown-up, complete with costumes, brooms, music, and dancing. Then watch your money disappear (like magic) at the many vendor booths filled with jewelry, handmade items, and more.

Organizers kindly request that you register for the walk in advance, so they can get an idea of how many people plan to attend. While it doesn't cost anything to sign up, they do ask that you consider donating whatever you can to help support the event in the future.
