Maine Game Warden Killed in a Plane Crash in Franklin County

The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife has identified the Game Warden killed in the crash as Joshua Tibbetts, 50, of Eagle Lake.

Tibbetts was a Game Warden for 18 years, three of those as a Warden Service pilot.

The crash happened at approximately 11:45 am on Tuesday in Avon, near Schoolhouse Pond.

Officials say the site of the crash isn't near a road, which made it more complicated to find. Warden Service airplanes and a Maine Forest Service helicopter were used to locate the crash site.
