
Maine State Police are Investigating a Murder in Norridgewock
Maine State Police have a man in custody after the discovery of a deceased male and another who had been brutally attacked.
One Man is Charged with Murder for the Death of a Maine in Norridgewock
Kendall Purnell, 38, of Norridgewock was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with murder after the victims were found. Members of the Somerset County Sheriff's Office had responded to a 911 call at around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, February 7th regarding an incident at a home on Walnut Drive in Norridgewock. When they arrived, deputies found a deceased male and another male with severe head injuries inside the home.
Waterville Police Caught Up to Purnell Who Was Driving the Victim's Vehicle
Area law enforcement agencies were alerted to be on the lookout for Purnell, who was seen driving the homeowner's vehicle. At approximately 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Waterville Police Officers saw the vehicle at the Irving Gas Station on Kennedy Memorial Drive and identified Purnell as the driver. He was transported to the Waterville Police Department and questioned by detectives before being charged with murder. Purnell was taken to the Somerset County Jail. So far, officials have not commented on a possible motive for the incident or whether the victims were familiar with Purnell.

A Second Victim Was Flown to Bangor in Critical Condition
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the names of the victims have not yet been released. The deceased male was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy. The injured man was taken to Reddington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan and later flown via Life Flight to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was listed in critical condition.
