Officials say no one was seriously hurt as the result of a bus crash in RSU #19.

School officials sent out a notice to parents and posted it on Facebook Monday morning. One of the RSU #19 buses had been involved in a crash.

We reached out to RSU #19 Superintendent Mike Hammer, who told us the bus driver had attempted to pull over to the side of the road when an oncoming vehicle began crossing into the bus's lane. Despite the driver's attempt to avoid a crash, the vehicle hit the front of the bus, on the driver's side.

Hammer says all the children were evaluated and found to have bumps, bruises, and some scrapes. Some of the students were released to their parents, while the others boarded another bus and proceeded on to school.

RSU #19 serves Corinna, Dixmont, Etna, Hartland, Newport, Palmyra, Plymouth, and St. Albans.
