There sure is as lot of talented people in Maine and a great example of that talent will be on public display this weekend throughout the state with the annual Maine Pottery Tour.

Pottery lovers can tour pottery and ceramic studios this weekend on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The complete list of where is here.

There’s a huge community of potters and ceramic artists in Maine. This is a chance to meet some of those folks, and they love to talk and explain how they do things. No matter where you are this is road trip worthy, and Maine Pottery Tour people have broken down the participants and mapped their locations on 3 different maps. Central Maine.  Coastal Maine.  And Southern Maine. Here they are.

Dozens and dozens of very talented artists sharing not only what they produce, but how. You can see how pottery is made, look inside the kilns, and shop all the handmade products at the dozens and dozens of participating potters.

Lori Watts from Fine Mess Pottery in Augusta and Maine Pottery Tour says:

Handmade pots beautify & elevate one of our most ordinary daily experiences – making & serving food. If you drink your coffee every morning from a beautiful mug that you enjoy using, you’ve made your day a little bit better.
