
Maine Man Charged with Murder for the Death of 3-Year-Old Child
An Edgecomb man has been charged with murder for the Christmas morning death of his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter.
Who Has Been Arrested?
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says State Police arrested Tyler Witham-Jordan, 29, of Edgecomb on Friday morning and charged him with murder. He is accused of killing 3-year-old Makinzlee Handrahan, whose mother was in a relationship with him, at the time of the child's death.
When Did This Happen?
It was approximately 7:37 Christmas morning 2022 when the Lincoln County Communications Center received a 911 call about a child in Edgecomb who was not breathing. She was transported by ambulance to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta, where she was pronounced dead.
Have Officials Commented On How She Died?
An autopsy was performed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, who ruled the death a homicide. Officials have never revealed her cause of death.
Witham-Jordan is being held at the Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset.
