Maine Drug Agents Say 2 Suspects From the Dominican Republic Tried to Flee

The charges stem from an investigation into the illegal sale of drugs in Washington County. Two search warrants were simultaneously executed early Wednesday morning at 369 and 870 East Side Road in Addison. The investigation had included undercover purchases of fentanyl and cocaine base (crack) from both residences. Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says that while agents executed the warrant at 369 East Side Road, both Pujols and De La Rosa Castillo tried to flee the scene before being quickly apprehended by members of the Maine State Police Tactical Team.

As a result of the searches, officials seized:

  • Over 150 grams of fentanyl
  • Over 20 grams of cocaine base
  • 3 handguns
  • Over $10,000 in suspected drug proceeds

Officials say the approximate retail value of the seized drugs is $22,000.
