Maine DOT Posts Valentine’s Day Themed Messages Along Interstate 95
The Maine DOT is spreading the love on Valentine's Day.
Once again, the Maine Department of Transportation has some witty words of wisdom for drivers. Signs along Interstate 95 read: "I think we click. Love, Your seatbelt." and "Someone wheely loves you. Drive safely."
During Super Bowl weekend, the Maine DOT showed love to the Patriots with some funny messages. The signs read, "87 is Gronk's number, not the speed limit." -- "Sober Driver? Dilly! Dilly!" -- "No sober driver? Belichick yo' self."
The Maine DOT has used witty messages to promote road safety over the past couple of years. According to the Portland Press Herald, the federal highway administrator assigned to Maine gave officials the go ahead to display lighthearted messages, rather than the sometimes grim and heavy handed reminders of years past.
