A New York man wanted in his home state on multiple gang-related charges is in custody in Maine.

New York Man Being Held in Maine as a Fugitive from Justice

David McCadney, 19, of New York, is charged in Maine with being a fugitive from justice and is being held without bail at the Kennebec County Correctional Facility.

It was approximately 11:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2026, when a search warrant was executed at 439 West River Road in Waterville.

Working together on that search were members of the Waterville Police Department, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the New York Police Department's Gun Violence Suppression Division.

Maine Police and Federal Authorities Arrest a New York Man Wanted for Homicide

It was during that search that McCadney was arrested on a fully extraditable warrant out of New York for 2nd degree homicide, relating to multiple gang-related shootings.

No one else involved in the search of that home was charged.

Bonney says he will not allow Waterville to be considered a haven by violent criminals hiding out from the law.
