Loud ‘Boom’ From Mill Demolition Rattles Bucksport
One of the final large buildings still standing at the site of the former Verso Paper Mill in Bucksport came down Thursday afternoon.
Bucksport residents may have felt a rattling boom at about 1 p.m. Thursday, as one of the final large buildings on the site of the Verso Paper Mill came down. An employee at Fort Knox across the bay caught photos of the large dust cloud created by the demolition.

Demolition of the mill started back in 2015. The final stack at the mill still stands. We are told by the Town of Bucksport the last stack is expected to come down in October.
