Legendary Rock ‘n’ Roll Club Sign Up For Auction In Maine [VIDEO]

The neon sign that used to adorn the Los Angeles Rock 'n' Roll club Whisky a Go Go goes up for auction in Maine on Wednesday.

The Whisky a Go Go discotheque was opened on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood in 1964. Over the many years it's been in business, the club has played host to artists like Janis Joplin, the Doors, Van Halen, and Motley Crue. And, in 2006, it was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.

Now, the neon sign that graced the front of the club is going up for auction in Maine. 13 feet tall, with bright pink neon letters, the sign welcomed club-goers in the '80's and '90's. The sign will be up for bids Wednesday through the Saco River Auction Company. The minimum opening bid is $5,000.
