A 60-year-old man from Jay died after his vehicle hit the back of a steamroller in a construction zone.

The accident happened at approximately 10:45 Thursday morning, on Route 4 in Jay, just north of Macomber Hill. According to the Sun Journal, a truck driven by Dana Morse turned from the Maxwell Road onto Route 4. The truck stayed in the southbound lane, which was being paved, at the time.

Morse's truck hit a steamroller, driven by Charles Gould of Pike Industries, sustaining critical injuries. He was taken by Northstar EMS ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Gould was not injured in the accident.
