According to an article on the WGME website, Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA Faith is planning a stop in Portland as part of its national “Make Heaven Crowded Tour,” teaming up with Calvary Chapel Greater Portland for an event expected to take place at the Expo Center in May.

The faith-based arm of the conservative organization is now led by Erika Kirk, the widow of activist Charlie Kirk. The Westbrook church had originally booked the venue for its own religious gathering, but later connected with Turning Point USA Faith about joining forces. The group describes the tour as a gospel-focused event centered on repentance, faith, and obedience to Jesus, though some critics are concerned it could take on a political tone.

Church leaders say that won’t be the case. Senior Pastor Travis Carey explained the event is intended to focus strictly on worship music, biblical teaching, prayer, and spiritual renewal, emphasizing that organizers will carefully choose speakers to avoid partisan messaging.

City officials in Portland say they approved the joint event because they cannot deny access based on viewpoints. As non-profits, both groups also qualify for a discounted daily rental rate of about $2,700, slightly less than the standard commercial fee.

It is not clear if Erika Kirk will be coming to the event.
