Increased Police Presence At Rockland School
A 20-year-old man faces charges after allegedly making a threat against Oceanside High School.
Rockland Police said there is no danger to the students, however school officials decided an increased police presence would help make everyone feel safer. Superintendent John McDonald told the Morning Sentinel that administrators learned Saturday that 20-year-old Thomas Sawyer had been arrested.
Sawyer is charged with terrorizing and was released on $1,500 unsecured bail. He's one of at least 13 students, statewide, who have been charged with terrorizing in connection with threats of violence against schools since the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida.
