Houlton Man Suffers Serious Injuries in Moose Crash
Two men were injured -- one seriously -- in a car-moose collision Saturday.
Devon Hannigan, 20, of Houlton suffered serious head and internal injuries in the crash, according to police. Hannigan was a passenger in the 2007 Chevy Impala that struck the moose on Route 11 in T7 R5 just north of Knowles Corner.
Another passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Taylor Graham of Houlton, suffered minor head injuries.
The crash occurred at about 11 a.m., when a moose entered the roadway into the path of the car, driven by 48-year-old Michael Boulier of Houlton. The vehicle struck the moose head on.
All three occupants were in the front seat and wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The car was totaled and towed from the scene. The moose was killed in the crash.
