This year for April vacation, how cool would it be to do something your musically inclined kid could totally sink their teeth into? Do you think they'd be interested in rocking out for a whole week, playing music with other kids their age? When I was a kid, I would've given just about anything to do just that.

Then this vacation, why not send them to the Bangor Rock Camp from the Maine Academy of Modern Music? I taught a rock camp for them last summer at the Bangor Arts Exchange, and it was simply one of the most amazing musical experiences I've ever had, and I can't wait to do it again this April too!

The kids really did all the work. They chose their own songs, they practiced their parts there and at home, and they really went out of their way to help, and encourage each other. All on their own! With really nothing more than just nudging them along and offering some basic advice.

The cost is $300 for the week, but MAMM has plenty of scholarship money available as well. They do their very best to never turn away a young rocker. So if you feel the cost is too much, they can definitely help you out with that. And, at the end of the week, you also get to see the fruits of all their labor at the concert the students put on for you!
