We invite you to stop by one of three Hannaford parking lots on Saturday, to help us get to a ton (or more) of pasta, all to benefit local food pantries.

Q-106.5 will be collecting pasta at the Brewer Hannaford, and we'd love to have you come visit us. All the noodles we collect will be given to the Good Shepherd Food Bank. But, if Bangor or Ellsworth are more convenient, you're certainly welcome to donate there. We have sister stations who will be set up at the Airport Mall Hannaford in Bangor and at the Ellsworth Hannaford. Donations at those stores will benefit those communities.

It doesn't really matter what kind of pasta you donate. Most people bring us spaghetti, but if you're an angel hair or macaroni kind of person, we'll take it. It also doesn't matter where you get the pasta. Hannaford has graciously allowed us to use their parking lots, and they do stock those pasta shelves to bursting on our Ton of Pasta days. But if you'd rather get it somewhere else, that's fine. Again, we'll take it.

Why pasta? Why not? A box of spaghetti costs about a dollar and feeds a family of four, so it's affordable. That way, we can collect a lot and benefit a lot of people. Plus, the boxes stack well on the pantry shelves. So, won't you help? The Ton of Pasta drive will be held from 9 to 1 at all three locations on Saturday. We hope to see you there.
