A Georgia man is facing charges after allegedly trying to abduct two teen girls in the Bangor area.

Serdest Ozilice, 23, of Savannah, Georgia is charged with assault and unlawful sexual touching in connection with one of the Bangor cases. His arrest was the result of a joint investigation involving the Bangor and Hampden police departments. Two teen girls had reported to police that a man with dark hair in a dark-colored SUV had approached them and allegedly offered them money to get into the vehicle.

The investigation led to Ozilice. But, when police spoke with him on the phone, Ozilice said he wouldn't meet with them and that he was leaving the state. At that point, a temporary arrest warrant was issued in his name. Belfast Police came across Ozilice in their jurisdiction and took him into custody. He was transported to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.

There's no word on whether a similar case in Northeast Harbor is connected. In that instance, a woman in her sixties was approached by a man in a similar fashion.
