A Gardiner man died Saturday when his vehicle crossed the interstate and struck two other vehicles.

State Police say 50-year-old Raymond Bisson lost control of his car on I-295 at around 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The vehicle crossed the median, struck a car in the southbound lane, and then hit a third vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle wasn't hurt and the third driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to WABI-TV, police said speed was likely a factor in the accident and Bisson wasn't wearing a seatbelt. There hasn't been a fatal accident on Memorial Day Weekend in Maine since 2014.
