Young Girl Survives Augusta Crash That Kills Father

A 6-year-old girl survived a Monday night crash in Augusta that killed her father.

Scott W. Jones, 41, of Augusta was pronounced dead on scene of the 10:40 p.m. crash on Eastern Avenue.

His daughter, the lone passenger in the 2000 Dodge Ram pickup, was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The accident is under investigation.
