In a Facebook live video and lengthy Facebook post on Thursday evening, the Downtown Bangor business Maine Cloth Diaper Company announced they are closing its doors in the coming weeks.

The owners explained the decision to close the business stemmed from loss of profits due to unusual weather and changing needs from/for customers.

As explained in the post, there are some final dates and times for final sales and events.  Friday will be the last day of online orders, with final sales to be taken during the 9 a.m. hour.

Sunday, Jan. 21 the store will be closed to restock for final in-store sales on Monday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m.

Various events, such as music time and a breastfeeding support group, are still scheduled for next week.

In October 2013, Betsy and Zeth Lundry took over the business from former owners Christy and Murray Perce.  The Lundy's are also owners of Downtown business Central Street Farmhouse.
