Some of the brightest meteors we can see from earth will be shooting across the sky this weekend!

This weekend a bright meteor shower will give earthlings quite the show! The Orionid Meteor Shower is a product of the famous Halley's Comet. Fragments from the comet are hitting the earth nearly head-on. This means the meteors you see will be very bright and fast moving.

The best viewing will be tonight and tomorrow. According to Space.com 2AM is the peak both nights. You could see about 10 to 15 meteors per-hour.

The Orionid Meteor Shower is named after the constellation they seem to streak from, Orion The Hunter.

In years past the meteor shower has peaked with up to 80 meteors per-hour. However, this year astronomers predict the peak will feature fewer shooting stars. There's still a possibility of about 20 to 30 meteors per-hour.

With clear skies in the forecast and a dim moon, viewing conditions are stellar!
