The Maine Marine Patrol is searching for a missing lobsterman, after his skiff was found adrift without him.

Searchers began looking for 63-year-old Glenn Murdoch of Bremen at around 9:30 Monday night in Round Pond Harbor, in response to a report that the man's skiff was found tied to the Harbor Master's boat, at the town dock. The man had taken his skiff out to his boat, which is moored about 100 yards off shore, and then the skiff was found empty and adrift and returned to the Harbor Master by a good Samaritan.

Monday night's search was suspended at 1 a.m. and resumed at 6 a.m. Divers are in the water this morning, searching the area around the man's mooring. Involved in the effort are the Maine Marine Patrol/State Police Dive Team and the Marine Patrol airplane.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
