We've all been there...

The morning after the office Christmas party or a holiday party at a friend's house, and you feel like the walking dead. Or how many times have you walked into your apartment in your younger days, and witnessed the carnage of your six roommates' impromptu Christmas rager?

Despite the fact that we've all had one of those nights, followed by one of those mornings, you don't usually expect to see it spill out onto the front lawn. But you'd swear that was the scene I witnessed as I was driving home from work the other day.

It literally looked like a scene out of Animal House.

The only problem was, all of the people lying on the ground that I saw, were presumably about 7 feet tall and made of nylon. And instead of a heart, brain, and lungs, they all had air pumps....? Pretty much because the partiers were someone's entire Christmas lawn display, but all the pumps were off.

I had driven by it before, and when I saw it, I almost lost my marbles with laughter. It was just so odd and unexpected. Obviously, if you have a lawn full of these blow-up Santas and reindeer and candy canes and what-have-you, this is definitely a sight you're used to. But to me, it was about the funniest thing I'd seen all day.

But seriously... enjoy the oddity of it all. It's what I like to think of as the vulnerable, unseen side of Christmas. Because apparently, even the lawn ornaments need a little rest this time of year. After all, it's 2021. They're having to bring ten times more cheer than usual. Be nice to your neighborhood blow-up lawn Santa, won't you?
