
Dexter Maine Man Accused of the Aggravated Assault of His Baby
An investigation into an assault that sent a baby to the hospital has led to the arrest of a Dexter man.
Dexter, Maine, Man Faces Charges for an Alleged Assault on a Baby
Kolby Drake, 23, of Dexter, is charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Assault
- Domestic Violence Assault.
Drake was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
Dexter, Maine, Police Say a 7-Month-Old Infant Suffered Serious Injuries
The Maine Department of Public Safety reports Dexter Police received a report of the suspected abuse of a seven-month-old infant on the evening of August 7th, 2025. Officers responded and found the child with serious injuries. The infant was transported to a local hospital.
The name of the child and the nature of their injuries were not released by police. Drake is the infant's father.
Dexter Police requested the Maine State Police/Major Crimes Unit to lead the investigation. The Maine Department of Health and Human Services was also notified of the incident.
Drake was arrested on August 13, 2025, on an arrest warrant. He's expected to appear in court this week.
