Two people are facing charges after allegedly smoking crack in a Bangor parking lot, with a 1-year-old child in the car.

State Police say 28-year-old Jacob Moulton and 32-year-old Desirae Cushman of Searsmont were located in a parked car in Belmont on December 21st. They were allegedly smoking crack cocaine, or cocaine base, as it's also known, and were allegedly in possession of an additional quantity of the drug. In the backseat of the vehicle, police found a 1-year-old child strapped into a car safety seat.

Moulton and Cushman were arrested and taken to the Waldo County Jail, charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of illegal drugs. They each received a $500 unsecured bail. The child was turned over to a relative and the Department of Health and Human Services was advised that the child had been placed in jeopardy.
