Police are investigating a convenience store robbery that happened during the afternoon on Memorial Day. Investigators are seeking the public's help locating the suspect.

It was just after 4:00 when a black man with a raspy voice walked into the Gulf Convenience Store on North Main Street in Brewer and demanded money. The man then fled on foot, traveling toward State Street. In a press release today, Brewer police confirmed the man was spotted walking past the Irving and may have crossed the Penobscot bridge into Bangor.

He's described as being a black male, 5'7" to 5'10" tall, clean shaven with a thin build. He was wearing loose-fitting black pants with multiple pockets, a dark-grey zip-up hooded sweatshirt, and a brown winter stocking-type cap.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen something or may have information on this robbery is asked to call the Detective Division at 989--7001.

The Brewer Police Department was assisted by the Bangor Police Department, Holden Police Department, and the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department who provided a K-9 unit to track the suspect.
