Joe from BBs Tattoo in Newport reached out with the story.

“Our friend 'Oscar' was involved in a motorcycle accident last month, and died as a result. He leaves behind a loving family and we are gathering to show the family as well as the Maine motorcycle community that we support them”

Anyone who rides knows it can happen to anyone. Even them. And all are invited to ride and show your support.

The event to raise the funds for Oscar’s family is Sunday the 26th and will take place at the American Legion Post 205 in Augusta. It is a benefit dinner and a silent auction for the family.

You can get a turkey dinner for a $20 donation beginning at Noon. There will be live music with two different bands.  And all riders and hot rods are invited to participate in the event.

We may not all be alike, and we may not all be from the same community, but here in Maine, ‘We get community’.

And here is another great example of community coming together in time of need to help community.

This event is hosted by the Neighbors Helping Neighbors group. Hopefully this will not only help the family in their time of need, but give a comforting feeling to all in the community that when we are there for those in need, they are there for us. Community coming together. It's a beautiful thing.

For the last word, back to our friend Joe from BB’s Tattoo
