Bangor residents are encouraged to stop by Bangor Mall tomorrow and chat with members of the Police Department over Starbucks coffee.

Coffee With a Cop is a national program that aims to humanize local law enforcement officers. It's a chance to talk to the police in a more casual atmosphere than usually happens. I mean, think about it, during what kinds of situations would you normally interact with the cops? You got stopped for speeding, or your car registration has expired. Or maybe you had a car accident, or witnessed some sort of altercation. Stressful times when you're going to see the uniform more than the person wearing it.

Residents are encouraged to stop by, have a coffee (or beverage of your choice), and chat about whatever you want. Maybe you have concerns about your neighborhood that you'd like to discuss. Perhaps you'd like to offer your two cents about a current issue in the city. Or maybe you'd just like to chat about how much you enjoy the Bangor PD's Facebook page!

Members of the Bangor Police Department will be at Starbucks, in the Center Court of Bangor Mall between 2 and 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 30th. They hope you stop by!
